“The things in this tunnel are imaginary as long as you don’t prove them otherwise…” This was the warning of the Sentinel Queen. But can Wayne really ignore these “imaginary” things to save his own life? Separated from the companions he had grown to trust, Wayne stands alone as he prepares to take his first steps on a journey through a terrifying, personal hell. The dark and ancient tunnel that lies before him will test his courage to its very limits and force him to face the greatest fears he has ever known—and the past he seeks to flee. And even if he is strong enough to endure this torturous passage, does he have what it takes to survive what lies beyond? The things that lurk in the Wood are not imaginary. It is a place of immeasurable darkness and despair, a place where death is eternal, but never final.
Book four of the Temple of the Blind Series
I am an independent author of horror fiction, suspense and dark adventure. I write stories that are frightening, disturbing or unsettling in some way or another. I tell ghost stories and tales of monsters and unnatural creatures. I tell stories that thrill, that keep you on the edge of your seat, that grip you and refuse to let you go until you've reached the end. I also tell stories that tease and intrigue, that keep secrets from you and make promises you can't know if they intend to keep. I tell stories that take you to incredible places, to worlds you've never dreamed of. I tell stories about the heart, about gut-wrenching emotions. And I tell stories about people like you and me.
I don't tell many tales about vampires or werewolves. Sometimes I play around with zombies and golems and ogres, but even then I never use the same, tired rules. I prefer to make my own terrors. If you're looking for something you've never seen before, let me show you around my world. I'll teach you why you should never pick up a scrounger. And why a labyrinth hound's teeth are the last thing you should be concerned about. And why you should never trust a cornfield.
And if you're really brave, I'll show you all the things that are hidden out there, all the things you're really afraid of, even if you don't know it yet. Together, we'll conquor them. Or we'll die in blissful agony. Either way, we'll make a great story. And that's where you'll find the real magic. It's always about the journey. And what is a journey, if not a story?
Brian Harmon is an independent author of horror fiction, suspense and dark adventure. By "independent," he means that he is his own print publisher. He has not signed a print publishing contract. He does not have an agent. He does all of his own writing, editing, formatting and marketing. He even does his own photography and cover design for the print version of his books. He does not have the luxury of fat advances or bookshelf presence in every bookstore. He struggles for every sale he makes. But he also does not answer to the gatekeepers of big publishing, who would not have approved of his taking the liberty of creating my own genres and telling his stories the way he wants to tell them. He refuses to be puppetted into writing the same, tired formulas. His work will be different. It will be new. It will be fresh. Also, his work will never go out of print.
Brian grew up in rural Missouri and currently resides in Southern Wisconsin with his wonderful wife, Guinevere, and their three beautiful children. Besides being an independent author of horror fiction, suspense and dark adventure, he is a stay-at-home dad happily experiencing the thrilling, touching, bewildering and sometimes downright scary joys of raising children.
