Passing through a variety of occupations after leaving school, Peter Barns went to work in the construction industry as an electrician. and ultimately became an electrical engineer. He moved to the Highlands of Scotland in the late 1980's, and with this move came a new occupation—counselling people with alcohol and drug problems. After that Peter managed a charitable company recycling computers back into the community. Now retired, this eloquent storyteller spends his time writing superb fiction and poetry.
